whg has welcomed Paul Baker as its new interim Director of Energy and Programme Management.

Paul, who has more than 25 years experience in the housing sector, joins the organisation from Citizen where he was Director of Asset Management.

Paul will lead on the housing association’s Building Safety work, ensuring whg implements new legislative and regulatory changes and producing building safety cases for all 16 of whg’s high rise blocks over 18m.

He will support whg on its journey to net zero carbon, and ensuring all its homes reach EPC C by 2030.

Paul will also lead our long term investment programme delivering around £200m of home improvements, through the recently procured strategic partnerships with three large regional contractors.

Paul said: “This is a really significant year for whg, with both the Fire Safety Act being implemented in January and the requirements of the Building Safety Act coming into force this year for our existing buildings. I’m excited to be joining whg at this time and look forward to bringing my sector experience and knowledge to the role as we continue our vital work to keep our customers safe whilst improving the quality of their homes.”
