We provide affordable homes for rent, shared ownership and sale across the Midlands. We work in partnership with our customers to keep their homes safe, secure and comfortable. We create sustainable and resilient communities through investment in people and places.

Providing excellent homes across the Midlands
Who are we?

We’re whg, a housing association formed in 2003. Our mission is simple: we’re dedicated to the success of our people and places.
We started in Walsall, where most of our homes are today and we now operate across the Midlands, including Walsall, Telford, Wolverhampton, Worcestershire and Staffordshire and other surrounding areas. We are proud champions of our great region, playing an active role in its future prosperity through regeneration, place shaping and community investment. We specialise in delivery through strategic partnerships, including with Homes England.
Sunday Times ‘Best Places to Work 2025’
We’ve been recognised as one of the UK’s top large employers in the Sunday Times Best Places to Work 2025.
This reflects our focus on creating a workplace where colleagues feel valued, supported and empowered to thrive.

Our homes

We own and manage around 22,000 homes, from flats to family houses and specialist housing for people aged 55+.
Each year we invest millions of pounds in our homes and neighbourhoods. Our in-house teams carry out day-to-day repairs and maintenance, and our partners support larger improvement programmes, including:
- new kitchens and bathrooms
- energy-efficient heating systems
- wider refurbishment work
What we stand for
We are a purpose-driven organisation and so use our resource and influence to make a positive difference for our customers and communities. We believe everyone should have a safe, secure and affordable home. A good home is the foundation for a successful life.
We are committed to doing everything we can to:
Make homes and
buildings safer
Tackle the shortage of good quality affordable housing in the Midlands
Eliminate rough
sleeping
Making places
We take an ambitious approach to development and regeneration.
By building new homes and investing in existing communities, we’re helping to tackle the national housing shortage and create places people are proud to call home.
