whg awarded for championing diversity and inclusion

Leading Midland’s landlord whg has been awarded for its work to champion diversity and inclusion in Walsall.

The housing association  received the ‘Better Together’ award from Travis Perkins Managed Services (TPMS) in recognition of its involvement in Walsall Pride.

Walsall Pride is a not-for-profit registered charity, run on behalf of the LGBT+ community of Walsall by a volunteer board of Trustees. whg is a regular sponsor of the annual Pride event, which attracts up to 4,000 people, and works closely with Travis Perkins who support this event by providing essential security fencing.

As part of the award whg also received £5,000, which will go towards furthering its diversity and inclusion work.

Lisa Wallis Corporate Director of People and Culture, said: “We are thrilled to have won this award, which recognises our commitment to diversity and inclusion.

“As an anchor institution working in the heart of local neighbourhoods we want to create environments where we can all feel comfortable. We remain firmly committed to continuing this work and bring positive change for all colleagues and the communities we serve. We also look forward to continuing our work with Walsall Pride.”
