Volunteers with the Black Country Food Bank will be able to continue delivering parcels to families in need, thanks to whg and contractors Travis Perkins Managed Services (TPMS).

The duo have contributed £2,000 to sponsor a van, which will be used to collect donations and deliver food parcels to families in need.

whg appointed TPMS as its new stores provider in 2020. As part of the contract TPMS pledged to support whg’s community work through social value.

Tarlok Klair, whg Social Value Coordinator, said: “Black Country Food Bank do an amazing job supporting families in need, and offer a vital lifeline to those in crisis, who simply can’t afford to put food on the table.

“We embed social value into all our contracts so that we can do more good in the communities we serve and have a positive impact on the people in them. TPMS’ kind donation will ensure that the maintenance and running costs of the van are covered, meaning the Black Country Food Bank can concentrate their efforts where it is needed.”

Ben Clifford, from TPMS, said: “We are delighted and proud to continue sponsoring such a vital community service. Part of our continued partnership with whg is the work we do together in the community and it gives us tremendous pride to support such a worthwhile service, providing much needed assistance to the communities we serve.”
