Hundreds join the fun at Big Day Out 2026

More than 640 people joined us for an afternoon of free family fun at our Big Day Out on Saturday 8 August.

The sun was shining as customers and their families enjoyed games, competitions and activities at our Hatherton Street offices. There was everything from hook-a-duck and keyring decorating to a scavenger hunt and electrical safety challenges.

Help and advice for customers

Big Day Out was also a chance for customers to meet our teams and partner organisations, ask questions and find out about the support available.

Our teams offered advice finding a home, gas and electrical safety, recycling, money and damp and mould. Customers were also connected with Walsall Council for help with bins and bulky waste.

More than 100 people spoke to our Safety and Compliance Team about gas and electrical servicing, with several appointments booked following these conversations. Another 150 people visited the mobile unit of our safety partner, Aico, to learn more about alarms and keeping their homes safe.

We helped customers access local support including school nursing, early help, family hubs, holiday activities and community pantries. Referrals were also made to services covering children’s health, employment, training and social prescribing.

Customers also shared their experiences and views with our teams, helping us understand what matters to them and where we can improve.
