A greener future for our homes and communities

We’ve just shared our 2024/25 Sustainability Report – a look at how we’re making our homes and neighbourhoods better for you, the planet, and the future.

Here’s what it means for you as a whg customer:

Making homes warmer and cheaper to run
Last year we built 467 new homes – and 85% of them have an EPC rating of B or better, meaning they keep heat in, use less energy, and can help cut your bills.
We’re also upgrading older homes to improve insulation, heating and energy efficiency.

Big changes in Dudley Fields
We started work to make Dudley Fields in Bloxwich one of the UK’s first Net Zero Neighbourhoods. Homes are getting free improvements like solar panels, insulation, and air source heat pumps, making them warmer in winter and cooler in summer.

Helping people into work and training
Our Work4Health programme has supported 190 local people into jobs in the NHS. Our H Factor project has helped over 1,000 customers improve their health, wellbeing, and skills.

Supporting greener communities
From planting bumblebee-friendly flowers to creating new gardens and green spaces, we’re helping wildlife to thrive and giving communities spaces to enjoy.

Reducing our impact on the planet
We cut our greenhouse gas emissions by 6% compared to last year, reduced waste from our offices by 7%, and used 13% less water.

We know there’s still lots more to do, and we’ll keep working to make your homes warmer, safer, and more affordable to run.
