whg named in top 20 digital landlords

whg has been named one of the country’s top digital landlords for its innovative use of technology to help and support its customers.

The leading Midlands’ landlord was ranked 14th in Housing Digital’s inaugural Top 30 Digital Housing Providers, an annual list that celebrates digital transformation and engagement within the social housing sector.

Judges were impressed by the way whg has placed customers at the heart of its initiatives and utilised technology to improve customer service. As part of its ambitious digital transformation plans, whg aims to achieve 70% of customer contact through digital channels by 2024. To date more than 9000 customers have registered on the Customer Portal and are managing their tenancies online through self-service.

Corporate Director of Operations Fay Shanahan said: “We want our customers to experience excellent customer service and exploring new, digital ways to engage and support customers is essential in us achieving that.

“The investment we have made in technology ensured that when lockdown was announced back in March, we were ready and able to react immediately, with all 400 plus office-based colleagues working from home within 48 hours.

“Our new Unified Comms technology also ensured we had a home working solution for our Customers Services team and were still available to take calls from customers.

“We’re delighted to be named in this national list, which recognises how we have gone above and beyond to support our customers through the application of technology.”
