Colleagues of leading Midlands landlord whg have been spreading festive cheer across the region this December by delivering hundreds of gifts and warm meals to those who need them.
Over 220 children’s Christmas presents and 300 meals were distributed to older customers aged 65+ and young care leavers aged 16-25, bringing holiday spirit to those who may face loneliness or hardship during the season.
Ibstock—a leading manufacturer of innovative and sustainable building products—supported the campaign by generously donating and wrapping toys for families with children supported by whg’s ACEing Asthma initiative, as well as contributing to the cost of the meals.
The gifts were distributed to children whose asthma may be worsened by colder weather, providing essential warmth to help manage their health and ensure they can stay warm as they enjoy the festive season.
Jack London, Factory Manager at Ibstock Atlas, based in Aldridge said:
“It is really heart-warming to be able to provide gifts for children who are living with the effects of asthma and to help people in need during the festive period. Our team has enjoyed being able to get involved and to give back to our local community.”
The season of giving continued with the support of the Birmingham Basket Brigade charity who donated 20 hampers containing enough food to feed a family of four for Christmas Day lunch, which were delivered to families in the run up to the big day.
Connie Jennings, Director of Stronger Communities at whg, said:
“Christmas is a time for connection and care, but for many it can be filled with loneliness or financial hardship. Thanks to the generosity of partners like Ibstock, as well as the efforts of our colleagues, we’ve been able to deliver hope and kindness to those who need it most.”
“We hope these food hampers and gifts let our most vulnerable customers know they are cared for and bring them some joy this winter.”
