We’re thrilled to unveil a sneak peek of Nightingale House, set to become our newest wellbeing scheme, within one of Wolverhampton’s most iconic landmark buildings.
The Grade II Listed former Royal Hospital had stood empty for decades after closing its doors for the final time back in 1997.
Now, thanks to the work of a whole range of partners, including ourselves, City of Wolverhampton Council, Homes England, and developer Morro Partnerships we are breathing new life into the historic building.
We have been sympathetically converting the building, transforming it into 48 apartments for people aged over 55.
In doing so the former wards have been separated into individual homes, alongside other rooms such as the grand chapel off the entrance hall being revived as welcoming communal areas.
Nightingale House will be our seventh wellbeing scheme, combining independent and communal living. The scheme will have a dedicated wellbeing officer, meaning residents can maintain their independence and live in their own home, whilst knowing there is someone on hand if needed.
The scheme is set to open later in the year. If you are interested in living at Nightingale House, please join Wolverhampton Council’s Homes in the City.
