When is my home due for improvements?
We normally renew items in your home at the end of their life cycle. This is calculated in years. The list below gives you an idea of when we might replace the main elements of your home.
When will my bathroom or kitchen be replaced?
New bathrooms and kitchens are usually scheduled well in advance according to the age and style of properties.
Every 15 or 20 years
- Boiler
- Kitchen
Every 30 years
- Bathroom
- Consumer unit
- Fire doors
- Central heating upgrade (inc. boiler)
- Windows
Every 60 years
- Roof covering
- External wall finish
How we decide when work is due
We use surveys and information about the age, condition, safety and energy performance of each home to help us prioritise work.
Homes are different ages and conditions, so improvements will not always take place in every home or street at the same time. We will contact you directly if your home is included in a planned programme. You do not need to apply.
Planned improvements are separate from our day-to-day repairs service. Please continue to report anything that needs repairing in the usual way.
