Looking to buy your home?
Most tenants will be eligible through the Right to Acquire scheme. If you were a Walsall Council tenant before 27 March 2003, you may qualify for the Right to Buy scheme instead.
This page explains how both schemes work, who can apply, and how to get started.

Right to acquire
If you rent your home from whg, you might be able to buy it at a discount through a government scheme called Right to Acquire subject to you meeting the eligibility requirements.
This scheme helps some tenants buy their home and take their first step onto the property ladder. You may want to get your own legal advice if you are unsure if you qualify.
Can I apply?
You might be able to, if:
-
- You’ve rented from a public landlord (such as a council or housing association) for at least three years.
- You’re a current whg tenant with a secure assured tenancy.
- Your home was transferred to a housing association after 31 March 1997
