Problems paying your rent

Your rent is one of the most important payments you will need to make but we appreciate that your circumstances can change.

If you ever fall behind with your rent, don’t ignore it. We know that it can be a difficult and stressful situation, but telling us straight away can be the first step in the right direction.

Let's talk it through

If you find that we are trying to call you about your rent, don’t worry! We’re calling to try and help you.

When you call us, or if we call you, a colleague from our Income Collection team will discuss your finances and we will see how we can help. We may ask you how much money you have coming in or going out each month.

Make sure you keep us up to date if your circumstances change. The more we know, the more we can help.

Where else can I find help?

We can offer you advice and assistance from whg Money Advice Team. Other organisations which can help include Citizens Advice Bureau, entitledto or the government’s Money Advice Service.

How can I manage my money?

Are there any benefits you’re entitled to? Are you getting the right benefits? Benefits can help increase your income and help support your day to day life.

By using whg budgeting calculator, you can put together a budget planner which can give you a clear picture of where your money is from and going to. It can show you any areas that you need to cut back on and can help you plan your finances.

Try this simple calculator which checks if you are eligible for financial help through welfare benefits such as Child Benefit, Council Tax Benefit or Pension Credit. The calculator will also show you how much you will be better off if you’re in work.

You can also check out Turn 2 Us which provides a variety of information on benefits, available grants and tailored financial advice for your situation.
