Our plan for better homes – and what this means for you

We’ve launched our updated Sustainability Strategy, setting out how we’ll improve homes and neighbourhoods over the coming years.
It focuses on what customers told us matters most: affordable homes, safe communities and better places to live.
The strategy is built around four key areas. Here’s what that means for you:
- Warmer homes and lower energy use (Climate impact)
We’re working to improve the energy efficiency of homes, including a target for all homes to reach a good standard by 2030.
We are installing solar panels, heat pumps and other upgrades across those homes that need them, meaning homes that are warmer and more comfortable.
2. Safer, healthier neighbourhoods (Community wellbeing)
We’re investing in safer neighbourhoods and better outdoor spaces, including tackling issues like anti-social behaviour and fly-tipping.
We’ve opened a new wellbeing community garden, designed with customers on land that previously attracted fly-tipping and are now exploring other areas we can transform into places to enjoy and spend time in your community.
3. Better quality, more sustainable homes (Sustainable buildings)
We’re improving how homes are built and maintained, including reducing waste and improving living conditions.
We are investing in upgrades, technology and improvements to how homes perform to create homes that are better maintained and healthier to live in.
4. Doing things differently (Governance & how we work)
We’re making changes to how we deliver services and reduce our impact.
We are introducing our first electric vans this summer and introducing a cleaner, more sustainable approach to how we work
We spoke to customers as part of developing this strategy, and your feedback helped shape our priorities.
We’ll continue to listen as we deliver these improvements.
