whg is reminding customers that there is support available if they are experiencing domestic abuse, as part of a national campaign.

The Midlands’ landlord is sharing the message that domestic abuse and sexual violence is not OK as part of this year’s 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence.

The event runs from 25 November to 10 December 2021 and aims to raise awareness of violence against women.

whg will be posting advice and guidance via its Twitter and Facebook pages to explain how people can support the campaign and where they can get free and confidential advice 24 hours a day.

Sustainable Tenancies Manager James Wall said: “We have seen reports of domestic abuse go up by 30% in the last year as the impact of the pandemic and isolation has increased abusive behaviour.

“However, there is no excuse for abuse, no matter what stresses people are under. We want our customers to know that we are committed to ensuring that those who are experiencing domestic abuse have the help and support available to them.”

For anyone who feels they are at risk of abuse, it is important to remember that there is help and support available to you, whatever your gender.
