whg has announced it has appointed Travis Perkins Managed Services as its new stores provider.

The contract means Travis Perkins Managed Services will be responsible for supplying materials to whg’s repair and maintenance supply chain for the association’s 21,000 homes across the Midlands.

The four year contract, worth £20m, will see Travis Perkins Managed Services manage whg’s Newfield Stores supported by two Travis Perkins branch satellite sites.

Corporate Director Rob Gilham said: “We recognised that our stores service needed to be modernised to support the future expectations of our customers and colleagues. This exciting new partnership will ensure we have the resources we need as we continue to grow as a regional organisation.”

“We are excited to work in partnership with Travis Perkins Managed Services and look forward to the innovations in service delivery that will follow.”

Regional Director at Travis Perkins Managed Services, Damion Rothner said: “We are delighted to have secured this contract and add this to our one million-strong portfolio of tenanted social housing properties in the UK where we are the sole provider of materials and supply chain solutions.

“As part of this partnership, we have taken over and fully refurbished whg’s distribution facility which will operate as a dedicated supply point. whg will also use our extensive branch network giving them flexibility and instant access to the materials they require.

“The partnership is the start of a much-improved way of delivering parts to whg repairs team that is cost effective and more efficient which is vital for services to tenants.”
