Wolverhampton Royal Hospital Development Progresses

The redevelopment of the Wolverhampton Royal Hospital site is moving forwards after revised plans were submitted.

Following recent collaboration between Cannock based developers Jessup, Homes England, housing provider whg, and BPN Architects – and guidance from City of Wolverhampton Council – updated designs have been submitted for the redevelopment of the Wolverhampton Royal Hospital and adjacent land. The plans have been proposed with a view to getting planning consent and commencing on site in Spring 2021.

The site already has the benefit of full planning consent, but this new application is intended to improve on the intended re-use of the Royal Hospital building itself. The proposed design makes best use of the space within the iconic listed building whilst retaining its character and will be used by whg to provide well-being apartments for the over 55s. The area behind the building will be entirely new development for a mixture of affordable and open market homes for rent and sale.
