whg has been shortlisted for a regional award for its work to provide good quality and affordable homes across the Midlands and beyond.
The leading Midlands landlord has made it through to the finals in the Social Housing Provider of the Year category of Insider Midlands Residential Property Awards.
The announcement comes fresh off the back of whg’s win at the UK Housing Awards, where it scooped the Resident Employment and Training Award.
In the last year whg has invested £82.3m on new homes and £37m on maintaining and improving its existing properties. The housing association has also built 551 new homes, with work starting on an additional 592.
whg’s Chief Executive, Gary Fulford said: “I’m delighted that whg has been shortlisted for yet another award, in recognition of the great work we are doing to create homes and communities people can be proud of.
“In the last year we have cemented our reputation as a serious and growing provider of homes. Highlights include being awarded funding of £38.7m through Homes England’s Strategic Partnership, launching our first shared ownership homes for the over 55s, and officially opening our Brownhills development of almost 400 new homes.
“We look forward to building on our success, and next year plan to venture into new ways of building houses as we accelerate our development strategy.”
whg will find out if they have won at an awards ceremony in Birmingham on 20th June.
The awards, which are now in their fourth year, celebrate the achievements of the region’s residential sector.
