We are one of the Midlands' leading and most successful providers of affordable homes.

whg is celebrating after being shortlisted for a hat-trick of industry awards.

The leading Midlands landlord has made it through to the finals in three categories of the UK Housing Awards

These are Campaign of the Year, the Neighbourhood Transformation Award and the Resident Employment and Training Award.

whg impressed judges with its Rent First Campaign, which aimed to tackle the challenges presented by Universal Credit. The campaign saw rent arrears fall to the lowest figure they had ever been and was applauded in parliament by local MP Eddie Hughes.

In the Resident Employment and Training category it was whg’s work to help more than 1,200 customers improve their job prospects that caught the eyes of judges, while the ambitious Goscote Lane Regeneration Project -  Walsall’s biggest ever residential regeneration scheme – saw whg go through to the finals of the Neighbourhood Transformation Award.

whg will now showcase the projects in front of a judging panel, before finding out if they will be named winners at a black tie event in London on May 1.

whg’s Chief Executive, Gary Fulford “It’s a huge achievement to be shortlisted for not one, but three awards – and a testament to the great work that our staff and customers do every day across Walsall and beyond.

“All three projects that have made it through to the finals showcase our commitment to being more than just a landlord. Projects like these, that help transform the lives of some of the most vulnerable in our society, are a key part of the work we do., and I am I’m delighted that they have been recognised in this way.”

The UK Housing Awards, run by Inside Housing and the Chartered Institute of Housing, is the largest and longest running awards in the sector and is now in its third decade.
