Leading Midlands’ landlord whg has been named one of the best landlords in the country.
The Walsall based housing association, which owns around 21,000 properties, was ranked 19th in the annual Top 50 Landlords list published by trade magazine 24 Housing.
whg has had an incredibly successful year, being named a Strategic Partner by Homes England, completing 551 new homes and investing £37m on improvements to existing homes. It also launched its first shared ownership homes for the over 55’s, while work has begun to trial its first modular homes, built off site, which will provide new homes at a greater pace.
However, it is not just whg’s property portfolio that is expanding. In 2018 it spearheaded a range of innovative initiatives to help transform the lives of people across the Midlands and beyond.
In the last 12 months whg helped 1,271 people improve their job prospects while 2,038 engaged with its health and wellbeing initiatives. Meanwhile whg’s Money Advice Team offered financial support to more than 600 households, with a total debt reduction of over £73,000.
Chief Executive Gary Fulford said: “We are delighted to be featured on this list. To make 19th place is a huge achievement, which really highlights all the hard work we are doing to put our customers at the heart of what we do and provide homes they can be happy in.”
