Prospective Apprentices from across the region were given the opportunity to find out more about a host of Apprenticeships as the Midland’s leading landlord, whg hosted an Apprentice Open Evening at their Hatherton Street office.
There are 12 vacancies on offer throughout whg in Accountancy, Business Administration, Housing Management, Surveying, Gas Engineering and IT.
Over 100 people turned up for the drop in event where managers and current whg apprentices were on hand to offer advice on kick-starting their careers with whg and give more information about the roles.
In the run-up to the event, Snapchat followers were be able to see useful tips about the apprenticeships and got to see behind the scenes of whg.
The Snapchat campaign titled ‘kick-start’ also gave a platform for colleagues who joined whg as an apprentice to share their experience with potential applicants.
Theresa Huburn, whg’s Director of HR, said “It was a fantastic evening that gave people a great insight into our Apprenticeships. Over 100 people were able to learn about whg and talk to different specialists about their business area and the Apprenticeships that are on offer.
Using Snapchat to promote the event was an innovative way to communicate with our target audience. It also gave potential applicants the opportunity to see what working for whg is really like. Colleagues who have joined our business as apprentices shared their stories on Snapchat and we hope to inspire others who want to kick start their career.”
