Volunteers from whg are helping to deliver food parcels to support food banks and help those in need.
The leading Midlands landlord is working with the four community support hubs set up in Walsall to coordinate support during the coronavirus pandemic.
Colleagues from whg are working with Making Connections Walsall, to ensure older and vulnerable people have all they need during the crisis.
The volunteers from whg’s Home Maintenance Team deliver food parcels and prescriptions to residents as well as pick up donations and supplies from local supermarkets.
Rob Gilham, Corporate Director, said: “We are proud to be more than a landlord and aim to provide our customers with not just a home but with services and support to improve their lives.
“Colleagues are playing a crucial role in ensuring vulnerable people across Walsall have the support they need during these difficult times, not only by ensuring customer’s homes remain warm, safe and working but by giving up their time where they can to support with voluntary efforts.
“This includes working with the four support hubs to deliver food parcels, as well as ringing vulnerable customers and even helping to bring a former stroke unit back into use to ease pressure on local hospitals. They are doing an amazing job and we are very proud of them.”
