Footie-mad youngsters scored a coaching session from the experts, thanks to leading Midlands’ landlord whg.
Pupils from Old Church Primary, in Darlaston, took part in the training at Bank’s Stadium.
The group of 12 10 and 11-year-olds picked up hints and tips from Walsall Football Club’s coaches and enjoyed a tour of the grounds.
They were also selected to be flagbearers for the Saddlers’ match against Macclesfield Town, and welcomed players onto the pitch before settling down to watch the game.
Connie Jennings, whg’s Head of Health and Wellbeing, said: “whg supports people to lead happy and healthy lives and our partnership working with Walsall FC is a great way for us to bring people together through sport and promote the importance of being active.
“This was a wonderful opportunity for some of our younger customers to have fun and learn new skills while also finding out about how to keep fit.”
Davina Clacy, head of Old Church School, added: “The children have been so excited about this day – seeing a professional match was a real treat for them.
“We’re delighted to be working with whg, who have been training our Year 5 and 6 pupils to become Play Leaders.”
