whg is today celebrating 15 years of providing affordable, good quality homes and community-based services.
The leading Midlands landlord was formed on 27th March 2003.
Over the last 15 years, whg has continued to grow and now owns and manages around 21,000 homes, with a presence in 18 local authorities in the Midlands.
Since 2003, whg has invested more than £700m in its existing homes and has built or acquired more than 2,000 new properties.
The organisation has also proven it is more than just a good landlord, by supporting more than 9,000 people on a wide range of community projects designed to promote independence, improve health, build confidence and gain the skills to secure employment.
Colleagues celebrated the important milestone by joining Gary Fulford, whg’s Group Chief Executive and Eddie Hughes, chair of whg’s Board, at a cake cutting ceremony, held at whg’s office in Hatherton Street.
Gary Fulford said: “It is great to look back on what has been a very busy and successful 15 years here at whg.
“The organisation has grown hugely since 2003 and we are now making our mark as a serious and growing provider of homes in the Midlands. Our development programme has rapidly accelerated and by 2020, we will have built another 1,250 high quality, affordable homes for rent and market sale.
“The business continues to go from strength to strength and last year, we unveiled our Corporate Plan with ambitious success measures for the future. We are progressing well with these measures and we have no plans to slow down our growth, as we look to own and manage 30,000 properties by 2024.
“I want to personally thank our involved customers, former and current board members, our business partners and colleagues past and present for all their hard work over the last 15 years.”
