Leading Midlands landlord whg has appointed Fay Shanahan as its new Corporate Director of Operations.
Fay, who was previously Customer and Community Director at Severn Vale Housing, brings 18 years of housing experience to her post.
She started her career in housing in 1999 as a trainee housing officer for Wycombe District Council, before holding senior positions at Solihull Community Housing, Midland Heart and Orbit Group.
Fay joined Severn Vale Housing in 2015 and her role involved inspiring and leading the delivery of housing, IT and business improvement services.
As the Corporate Director of Operations at whg, Fay will now be responsible for whg’s Housing, Health and Wellbeing, IT and Customer Services Teams.
Fay said: “I love housing and I love the difference we can make to people’s lives. I am absolutely dedicated to making sure that at whg we continue to provide the best services we can for our customers, that we continually innovate and that we rise to the challenges with a strong, positive mindset.
“I was inspired to join whg because its aims and success measures outlined in its recent Corporate Plan really stood out to me. It is clear that whg has been on a brilliant journey so far and has a great journey ahead, so I am really looking forward to contributing to the delivery of whg’s strategic vision.”
Fay’s appointment comes as part of a move by whg to further strengthen its senior Executive Team.
Theresa Huburn, who was previously whg’s Director of HR, has been appointed as whg’s Corporate Director of People and Learning. Karen Marshall, who was formerly whg’s Director of Governance and Compliance, has started a new role as whg’s Corporate Director of Governance and Compliance.
Rob Gilham, who was previously whg’s Corporate Director of Operations, has now started the role of whg’s Corporate Director of Business Strategy and Assets. This follows the recent retirement of Cliff Horrocks, formerly whg’s Corporate Director of Asset Management.
Gary Fulford, whg’s Group Chief Executive, said: “We are delighted that Fay has joined whg. We have big plans for our future growth and service improvement and Fay will have a crucial role in helping us achieve our ambitions. We are delighted to have Fay on board and part of the team.”
