What can I do if I’m struggling to pay my energy bills?

If you’re worried that you won’t be able to afford to heat your home or pay your energy bills you should contact your provider immediately. They will be able to talk you through the available options and can offer advice.

You might be able to take advantage of certain benefits, grants and help:

The Winter Fuel Payment is an annual one-off payment to help you pay for heating during the winter.

You can usually get a Winter Fuel Payment if you were born on or before 26 September 1955.

Cold Weather Payments are one-off payments to help you pay for extra heating costs when the temperature drops below a specific temperature for a set period of time.

If you are on a low income or receive certain benefits you could be eligible for the Warm Home Discount of £140.
