whg has pledged to take action to support victims of domestic abuse as part of the national Make a Stand campaign.
The Make a Stand pledge was developed by the Chartered Institute of Housing in partnership with Women’s Aid and the Domestic Abuse Housing Alliance.
As part of the pledge, whg has agreed to make four focused commitments to provide support for people experiencing domestic abuse:
- Put in place and embed a policy to support residents who are affected by domestic abuse
- Make information about national and local domestic abuse support services available on our website and in other appropriate places so that they are easily accessible for residents and staff
- Put in place a HR policy, or amend an existing policy, to support members of staff who may be experiencing domestic abuse
- Appoint a champion at a senior level in our organisation to own the activity we are doing to support people experiencing domestic abuse.
Our commitment to Make a Stand reinforces whg’s already extensive approach to safeguarding awareness and action, through robust policies and procedures and work with partner agencies.
