Our Children and Family Fitness and Fun School Programme offers a variety of extra-curricular and in-school physical activity sessions.

Through Key Stages 1 and 2 we can provide a range of high quality, flexible and value for money opportunities to meet the needs of your school, the key aims of the National Curriculum Physical Education Programme and many Ofsted recommendations for the use of the sports premium fund. 

We pride ourselves on engaging children and their families on our programmes in a fun, enjoyable and informal way which encourages their participation, learning and confidence building.

  • FLASH programme

    FLASH: Families Learning About Staying Healthy

    A structured 10 week healthy lifestyle and weight management programme which aims to help children who are above a healthy weight or at risk of being overweight to lose and sustain their weight loss.

    Outcomes of the programme are:

    • Supporting child and family to be more active
    • Helping the child take control of what they eat or drink
    • Boosting confidence and emotional wellbeing
    • Providing a weekly weigh in
    • Helping children and adults to understand the benefits of exercise
    • Increased social and communication skills.

    Cost 10 week programme £1,350 for 15 children and a parent/carer per session (Children aged 4-12 years)

  • Get Up & Go Families

    A programme that provides simple healthy eating messages and information handouts followed by promoting physical activity through a mix of games and multi sports for children and their parent/carer.

    Outcomes of the programme are:

    • Helping children and adults to understand the benefits of exercise
    • Increased participation in physical activity
    • Learning sustained through parents involvement and increased engagement in school life

    Cost 6 week programme £600 for 20 children and a parent/carer per session (Children aged 4-12 years)

  • Active Clubs

    A variety of fun games and activities structured to get children moving. This programme can be used as a pre engagement programme to GUAGF or a stand alone.

    Outcomes of the programme are:

    • Increased participation in physical activity
    • Helping children understand the benefits of physical activity
    • Increased confidence, social and communication skills.

    Cost 6 week programme £400 for 20 children aged 4-8 years

  • Soccer Schools and match visits

    In partnership with Walsall Football Club, a day coaching session delivered to help develop soccer skills. Match visits* also available throughout the year for children and family members to attend.

    Outcomes of the programme are:

    • Increased participation in physical activity
    • Opportunity to experience a match day visit – positive family activity

    Cost 2 or 3 day soccer school in half term £500 for 12 participants (Children aged 6-14 years)

  • Healthy Lunchbox sessions

    An Assessment of lunchbox contents, information and guidance on what makes a healthy lunchbox and a range of tools for improvement e.g. keeping a weekly food diary.

    Outcomes of the programme are:

    • Increased understanding of benefits of healthy eating
    • Learning sustained through parent involvement

    Cost for 4 1 hour sessions £300 up to 30 children and/or a group of parents

  • Half term activity camps

    2 days of 4 hours activity including healthy eating information and advice. To be delivered on the school premises.

    Outcomes of the programme are:

    • Increased participation in physical activity
    • Increased confidence, social and communication skills.

    Cost for 8 hours of activity over 2 days £550 up to 25 children (Aged 4-12 years)

  • Playground Leader training

    A Short training programme which equips years 5 and 6 pupils/ or support staff with skills to deliver simple playground activities and sustain the learning from our programme. Some of the sessions covered are:

    • Qualities of a good leader / Organisation skills
    • Inclusion and Fair play
    • Activity planning
    • Game plans

    Outcomes of the programme are:

    • Increased confidence and self esteem
    • Development of knowledge and skills related to physical activity
    • Improved organisational and leadership skills

    Cost for 1 and a half hour sessions over 4 weeks £200 for up to 6 children.

  • Pop up health info and advice sessions

    Healthy lifestyle information and advice sessions for parents/carers. To provide basic information on how to be more active, healthy eating, weight management, stop smoking, drinking sensibly, substance misuse, emotional wellbeing and mini health checks.

    Advice and support to other mainstream services e.g. Screening programmes, sexual health, mental health support, money management, access to volunteering and employment support.

    Cost £50 per hour, usually 2 to 4 hours.

  • Waist Away Programme (adults)

    A structured 12 week weight management programme which encourages weight loss and behaviour change by making small but sustainable lifestyle changes. Participants receive high quality information toolkit and supporting resources.

    Outcomes of the programme are

    • Increased understanding of the benefits of leading a healthier lifestyle for both individual and their family
    • Developing confidence and self esteem
    • Opportunity to share and sustain learning with wider family/community

    Cost 12 two hour sessions over 12 weeks £1,620 up to 15 participants per programme (Adults only)
