In partnership with Walsall Council, whg has established the Visionary Investment Enhancing Walsall (VIEW) fund financed by the VAT repayments on major works that it carries out.

VIEW was set up in partnership with Walsall Council and is an exempt charity and registered society under the Co-operative and Community Benefit Societies Act 2014. 

The VIEW fund has helped a diverse range of projects. Among those are:

  • Routes to Employment – this programme uses music and media to engage young people who are NEET (Not in Employment, Education or Training) in real work experience and employment skills to help them move off benefits and into work
  • Ryecroft NCR – right at the heart of the local community, Ryecroft NCR provides new businesses with start up advice along with education and training for adults to help them develop confidence and the skills to move into education, training or employment
  • Celebrating Later Life – Age UK have used VIEW Funding to offer activities and programmes which develop confidence and build skills, promotes working opportunities and provides opportunities for individuals to socialise
  • Community Footprints - this project supports local people who lack confidence and need a helping hand to go into work, education or training. They use health, beauty and other therapeutic programmes to help people feel good about themselves and improve their overall wellbeing.
