Help to pay your rent
whg offers a range of help and advice to customers needing guidance relating to welfare, benefits and advice.
If you have a change in your circumstances or are having difficulty paying your rent, tell us about it; there is lots of help available.
It’s important you contact us straight away to discuss the matter and to arrange a repayment plan. We can also check if you are getting all the benefits you are entitled to, or you can do this yourself by using Walsall Council's online benefits calculator.
We may also be able to help you with other debts. We have trained Welfare Benefits and Debt Advisors who can help you prioritise your debts and contact the organisations you owe money to, such as banks, debt companies and door collectors. They may be able to arrange for you to make smaller payments until you get back on top of things.
We can also help you set up an account with Walsave credit union to help you budget and pay your rent by direct debit.
If you don't tell us you've got a problem, or if you don't keep to an agreement to pay off the debt, we will take legal action. This could lead to your eviction from your home. We may not offer you another property if you are evicted because of rent arrears.
