STATUS Survey

STATUSThe results of 2009’s STATUS survey have revealed that more than eight out of 10 whg customers are happy with the overall service provided by their landlord.

81 per cent of the 2,780 customers recently surveyed said they were satisfied. This compares with 40 per cent in 2003.

This year, independent company BMG Research conducted a STATUS Survey with a sample of randomly selected customers. All information given was treated in confidence and whg has not been told which customers were surveyed.

In addition, the survey said: 83 per cent of customers said whg was good at keeping them informed and 81 per cent were satisfied with the quality of their home.  72 per cent believe their rent represents value for money, compared to 46 per cent in 2003.

A focus on the repairs service highlighted that it is held in high regard, with 90 per cent of the sample reporting work is carried out quickly and 89 per cent said to a satisfactory quality. The attitude of colleagues in the team was described as good by 94 per cent of those surveyed.

The Tenant Services Authority, the new regulator for social housing, set the survey questions and all landlords must carry out the same survey so results can be compared locally, regionally and nationally.

whg undertook its first survey in 2003, the year of the Big Switch when Walsall Council housing stock was transferred to a number of registered providers in the borough, the biggest of which was whg.
