
One of the most ambitious of the new regeneration projects is the Goscote Lane Corridor, a plan to bring much-needed investment to the area and so create a place where people choose to live and stay.
This is a long-term scheme that will bring real improvements in housing, health and community facilities, shops and employment over time. Local residents and ward councillors have been involved in influencing future plans for the area.
The Goscote Capacity Building Project demonstrates whg's commitment to developing the community and not just the housing stock. whg recruited a number of tenants to act as community experts, to be involved in the development of community activities in Goscote. Some of these community experts have now enrolled at university or found paid employment.

whg and Walsall Council have been working with architects Sheppard Robson to prepare masterplan proposals for the redevelopment of over 20 hectares of land in Goscote Lane Corridor. The masterplan sets out the general principles for the sites that will be redeveloped and how the green spaces will be integrated into new developments.
