The fund is expected to reach around £8m over the next five years.

VIEW has been set up as an Industrial and Provident Society with exempt charitable status.  Funds will be used for activities throughout Walsall that will boost learning opportunities and help build vibrant communities who can play an active role in regeneration.

The VIEW fund has helped a diverse range if projects, including many Community Chest enterprises.  Among those are:

  • Spadework, a scheme offering the hire of garden tools at affordable prices to encourage residents to take pride in their gardens.  To those less able members of the community it also offers the services of a handyperson.
  • Train 2 Work, a programme to increase IT skills and improve recognised CLAIT qualifications for 30 physically impaired people within the Borough of Walsall.
  • Facilities Development, a project run by Rhythm Rooms Art and Media Centre to provide further recording rooms to satisfy the demands of the increased number of young people who wish to participate in music making.
  • Investors in Parents contributes to and enhances the quality of parental involvement for those parents and carers seeking guidance on how to support their children's education.
